Honoring Senior Adults

And regardless of their age, our senior adults are gifts from God to our church family.

“Getting old is not for sissies!” said a gentleman in his 90’s. I’m sure he’s right. It’s no small feat to reach the 90’s - much less to continue in them. Here at First Baptist Church we’re blessed to know several 90 year olds and even some centenarians. And regardless of their age, our senior adults are gifts from God to our church family. These men and women have made sacrifices of their time, talents, and treasures for many years to serve Jesus and His Church and we and our families are the beneficiaries.

Even today our senior adults faithfully serve with our children’s ministries, our music ministry, our deacon council, and our discipleship and Sunday School ministries. In addition, senior adults serve on most every committee of our church. These brothers and sisters are committed to the ongoing mission of our church AND they faithfully support our church financially with their tithes and offerings. First Baptist Church is most blessed of God to have such a fine group of senior adults.

This Sunday, May 1st, we will honor our senior adults in the Morning Worship Service. Following the service the Hostess Committee will serve those senior adults who’ve registered a special meal in the Ministry Center. Please join me in honoring and thanking these men and women for their service to Christ and our church and for their example to our families.

'You shall rise up before the grayheaded, and honor the aged, and you shall revere your God; I am the LORD. (Lev 19:32)
