The Light and the Darkness

There is a light that drives away darkness. A light that drives out fear.

Thank you to the 120+ volunteers who served with compassion at last week’s Zoomerang VBS. The opportunity to lovingly lead and serve 170 children to see every human as created by God and to be valued. The week was filled with divine moments to teach God’s love for humanity, His plan for marriage and His redemptive plan to pursue His fallen creation. Pray for our staff in following up with children who had questions about the Gospel.

This coming Father’s Day weekend will be The Darkness and the Light Student Summer Camp at Shocco Springs Conference Center in Talladega. The camp theme comes from John 1:5, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” There is a light that drives away darkness. A light that drives out fear. A light that shines for justice. A light that is comforting and clarifying. A light that saves. I am so excited that our students will experience The Darkness and the Light. I believe that over the course of the weekend, they will truly see the radical difference God makes in the lives of His people.

Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Pray for our students and adults to be challenged by God’s Spirit.
