A few years ago our Outreach Committee encouraged each of us to pray and identify one person who appeared to be far from God or far from His People. This person became your ‘One’. The instructions were to pray for your ‘One’, establish rapport with your ‘One’, and then invite your ‘One’ to join us for Sunday Morning Worship.
This Easter season is a great time to revisit this intentional strategy. Two weeks from now is Easter Sunday – April 17th. Easter is on the radar of most everyone in our community. It’s a perfect opportunity for each of us to identify and reach some ‘One’ for Christ. Do you have new neighbors? Is there someone at work you believe needs Jesus? Does a classmate or teammate of yours seem far from God? Do you know someone who is unchurched? Please, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to place a person on your heart. That’s a prayer the Lord loves to answer. When you are concerned for people as He is, He’ll be sure to answer your prayer to reveal a ‘One’. And when He does, begin praying for your ‘One’. Reach to him or her with a warm greeting, an inquiring conversation, and/or an act of service. This prepares the way for you to extend an invitation for your ‘One’ to attend Easter worship with you. You’ll be amazed how God can use you for His glory and another person’s good when you become intentional as an ambassador for Christ.
