The Journey Forward

And new ministry leaders are emerging.

Over the last two years our staff has remembered David’s words from Psalm 31:3 often, For Thou art my rock and my fortress; For Thy name's sake Thou wilt lead me and guide me. When God leads His people, He leads them for His name’s sake and His glory. God has done just that in our church over these years. God has faithfully led First Baptist Church through the Covid pandemic, through a staff reorganization, and through a pastor search process. In the new year, our church is demonstrating a renewed hunger for spiritual growth and discipleship. And new ministry leaders are emerging. By God’s grace First Baptist Church, Headland is in a good and growing position to look, dream and pray forward.

Last week, I introduced to the church family “The Prism Journey for Churches”. What attracts our church staff and our deacons is Prism’s ‘grass roots’ congregational emphasis. The entire church family is invited to join the journey. All members are encouraged to come aboard, pray about and speak into the future five to seven years of our church as God leads us together. “The Prism Journey” beckons all FBChristians to embark on this journey forward. It will be exciting to see how God’s Holy Spirit inspires and unites us as we pray and seek Him. Please join us next Wednesday night, for a Special Business Meeting to hear about, discuss, and pray over this opportunity.

Thank you again, church family, for your many expressions of love and concern and for your prayers over this last week. God has blessed us all greatly and now He calls us out to bless Him, one another, our community and our world.

I’m blessed to be on this journey with you,
Cecil Sanders
